OUR HISTORY

Founded in 1942, The Mongolian National University of Medical Sciences was originally named “The Medical Faculty of the National University of Mongolia”.The establishment of this university marked the beginning of the modern history of Mongolian medical sciences.

In 1961, the Medical Faculty was separated from the National University of Mongolia and the “Mongolian Medical School” formed the Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy and Pediatrics.

In 1990, after the democratic revolution, the institute was reformed as a university and became the “Mongolian Medical University” and has grown into institution comprising 3 schools, 4 colleges and 37 departments with well balanced programs in medicine, biomedicine, dentistry, traditional medicine, pharmacy and public health.

The Mongolian Medical University is reorganized and renamed as “Health Sciences University of Mongolia” and has grown into a multidisciplinary institution comprising 7 schools and 44 departments with well balanced programs in medicine, biomedicine, dentistry, traditional medicine, nursing, pharmacy and public health.
